Join Islington Local History Centre for a special show-and-tell archive event, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to explore unique materials from the Sickert Family Collection. Hosted by historian Jason Price and assisting archivist Ruby Kerrison, this intimate session delves into the lives and works of Walter Sickert (1860-1942) and Thérèse Lessore (1884-1945), pioneering artists who resided and created in Islington in the 1920s and 30s.
Visitors can view rarely seen sketches, letters, and personal papers, gaining insights into their creative partnership and connections to Islington. This event is presented alongside the exhibition Our Islington: Art of the Borough, highlighting the work of artists from the borough.
