Our August/September issue was the final print edition of EC1 Echo in its present form. EC1 Echo is currently publishing to the web only.
EC1 Echo is Clerkenwell’s free community newspaper by and for local people. It includes local news, features about community projects and campaigns, comment and opinion on what’s happening in the borough, interviews with local residents, and previews of local events.
The paper is a partnership between Social Spider Community Interest Company and local charity, The Peel. Social Spider CIC also runs three other papers in north-east London – Enfield Dispatch, Haringey Community Press and Waltham Forest Echo – on a not-for-profit basis.
EC1 Echo relies on advertising revenue to cover production costs but all income is reinvested in the continuing success of the paper.
Circulation and Distribution
EC1 Echo has a circulation of 7,500 copies per issue:
- 7000 copies are delivered to residents via door to door.
- 500 copies are distributed to community venues in EC1.
