WeSwim, a community-led, registered charity, dedicated to empowering swimmers with disabilities in London, is launching its Christmas funding appeal to raise £10,000 – the cost of running one club for six months. These clubs provide essential opportunities for 110 people with disabilities each month to stay active, improve mental wellbeing, and feel part of a supportive community.
This year has been a landmark for WeSwim, welcoming 222 new swimmers and expanding to two new locations in Vauxhall and Tottenham, areas where inclusive activities are often scarce. Despite this growth, the demand for accessible swimming opportunities continues to rise, and sustaining these vital services requires ongoing support.
For many participants, WeSwim’s clubs are more than just swimming sessions. They are lifelines—places where loneliness is replaced by friendship, confidence grows with every lap, and physical activity is adapted to meet individual needs. However, providing these services comes with costs such as pool hire, adaptive equipment, and volunteer training.
“We’ve seen incredible growth this year, and the demand for accessible swimming is higher than ever,” says Tash Fleming, Founder of WeSwim. “We don’t want to turn anyone away, but we can’t do it alone. This Christmas, we’re asking for help to keep our clubs running and ensure every Londoner with disabilities has the chance to swim.”

Donations start at just £5 and can be made online here. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help sustain these vital services and bring the joy of swimming to even more people in 2025. The Christmas appeal runs until December 31, 2024, with all funds raised directly supporting WeSwim’s network of clubs.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the community of supporters who’ve helped us achieve so much in 2024,” adds Fleming. “Every donation helps us keep our promise to swimmers with disabilities: a welcoming, inclusive space where they can grow, connect, and thrive. Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we can make an even bigger splash in 2025.”
