The sun came out, and a brisk wind didn’t dampen the spirits, as the 80th anniversary of VE Day was celebrated by everyone associated with The Peel. There was a street party in Northampton Road, for the Adult Social Club, with delicious food and drink, live entertainment and lots of audience participation! Local Police Community Support Officers joined in and helped out too.

Meanwhile, over at Brunswick Close Estate, The Peel’s community team organised a party with prize bingo, traditional games (with a twist!) and a look at The Peel’s archives.

To end the day the Youth Club had their own afternoon tea party and games.

There was a real sense of community spirit, lots of help from some fantastic volunteers, and a good time was had by all, marking this momentous milestone.
