Grace Roach is a dedicated and passionate counsellor with a practice based in Islington, who has been supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments for nearly two decades. With a rich and diverse background in counselling, Grace offers one-to-one sessions online, telephone, in-person, and through group work—always with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusivity.

A registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and ICO registered, Grace brings a wealth of experience gained from working across various sectors. Her career spans roles such as disability residential homes, the NHS, and renowned charities including Mind, Hackney Bereavement Services, Place2be and a range of sight loss organisations such as RNIB, Blind Veterans UK, and MertonVision.

Her work has also taken her abroad, where she contributed to counselling training and facilitation in Africa, further expanding her perspective and commitment to mental health care on a global level.

Grace’s personal experience of living with multiple disabilities, including sight loss, deeply informs her empathetic approach. She understands the emotional challenges that can accompany disability and is passionate about creating a safe, non-judgemental space for others. “I am wanting to create a listening ear in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space in the community,” she says. “A place that supports people with a range of disabilities and emotional health challenges from anxiety and depression to shame, bereavement, relationship breakdown and work-related stress.”

In recent years, she has expanded her practice to include accessible art therapy techniques and therapeutic writing workshops, which she has personally developed for individuals with disabilities. These creative approaches allow for a deeper level of self-discovery and emotional expression, offering participants new ways to process grief, stress, and isolation.

Grace currently runs a growing counselling and well-being practice in the Borough of Islington. Her work includes facilitating accessible creative writing and art sessions for both individuals and groups, face-to-face and online, particularly with those navigating overwhelming feelings of loss and grief, disability, or life transitions.

Through her holistic and inclusive approach, Grace continues to make a meaningful impact on the emotional wellbeing of her community through her personalised approach, creative workshops, and individuals sharing their narratives.
