Leadenhall Market is pleased to announce that starting from 19 April, its popular series of free-to-enter vintage furniture, fashion and craft weekend markets will be returning to its stunning glass-covered cobbled walkways, with 17 market days planned throughout the year.

Weekend markets will take place under the breathtaking painted atrium of the Victorian structure, running from 12 to 5pm on two weekends each month from April to November. A special Christmas market will also be held in December, all giving visitors plenty of opportunities to browse a vibrant, bustling mix of stalls from independent traders along Leadenhall’s famous passages.

Several of the Market’s restaurants, cafés and bars will be open during market days, serving food and drinks to keep shoppers refreshed. Leadenhall Market’s covered walkways provide the perfect space for browsing, whatever the weather.

Back by popular demand after the reintroduction of market stalls to the City of London’s iconic shopping and dining destination in 2024, the Markets will be hosted by The Vintage Furniture & Flea Market and SoLo Craft Fair, operators who ensure an eclectic mix of quality goods.

With new dates announced for the popular pop-up markets, shoppers will have even more opportunities to explore a fantastic selection of stalls while enjoying the outstanding food and drink options at Leadenhall’s many restaurants and bars. This extension of our pop-up weekend markets ensures that Leadenhall Market remains a must-visit spot, bringing even more energy and reasons to visit the City at weekends.”

Leadenhall Market has been a bustling hub of commerce for centuries, with its roots stretching back to Roman Londinium around 100 AD, where a Forum (market) and Basilica (court) once stood. The first recorded Leadenhall Market emerged in 1321, when Sir Hugh Neville opened his ‘Leaden Hall’ manor’s grounds for trading, quickly becoming a centre for poulterers, wool, leather, and cutlery merchants. Over the centuries, the site evolved, hosting festivals, a chapel, and even a school. The current Grade II-listed structure, designed by Horace Jones in 1881, now thrives as a vibrant mix of boutiques, restaurants, and bars, with its historic tradition of markets revived in 2024 and now continuing in 2025.
