Better Space Open Day

For anyone interested in starting their own business Better Space London are holding an open day on Wed Sept 27th.

For anyone interested in starting their own business Better Space London are holding an open day on Wed Sept 27th.

There will be a chance to meet some social enterprise founders and try out their coworking space for free, plus lots of opportunities for networking. Better Space is one of Islington Council’s Affordable Workspaces.

This is the schedule for the day:

9:30am – Check in for Coworking

The Better Space team will be hosting a workspace welcome briefing at 9:45am for anyone who signs up for their free coworking day. Please allow 15 minutes for them to show you the facilities, set you up with Wifi and run through a quick round of intros over tea and coffee!

2:30pm – Member Marketplace opens (Upstairs)

From 2.30pm until 4pm, a number of their member businesses will be positioned at market stalls, ready to talk to you about their work, careers and any opportunities they have. Some of the businesses include:

  • BfB Labs (Mental Health technology)
  • Shade the UK / Love Design Studio (Climate campaigning and sustainability for build environment)
  • Social Enterprise Academy (Social Impact Education for Schools)
  • BuddyHub (Intergenerational friendship building)
  • Eftopia (Accessible education)

3:00pm – Video CV Drop in (Orange Room)

For individuals looking for a job, one of the Better Space members; Inspiring Interns, will be running a ‘Create your Video CV’ workshop from 3pm. Learn how to sell yourself in super short video which the team will help you record for future use.

4.00pm -‘The Journey to Self Employment’ Panel (Downstairs)

Community Manager Gabriella Kisoi will be hosting a panel of guests, interviewing them on their journeys into self employment! Better Space have just revealed the following two panellists, with two more being revealed on their social media in the coming week!

–       Benédict Kalombo, Founder of Pinned Media and Pin Africa

–       Vamory Traore, Director of WAAT

5:00pm – Better Space Briefing & Networking drinks (Downstairs)

At 5pm, food and drink will be served whilst the Better Space team provide an update on the opportunities available over the next few months, including Mentoring, Self Employment Workshop series, Lunch and Learn events and discounted memberships.
