Find out more about Dan Chatterton and his Atheistic Communist Scorcher at the first event next week…

Clerkenwell’s Dan Chatterton was one of Victorian England’s most radical voices— an atheist, republican, and fierce critic of church and monarchy. He self-published Chatterton’s Commune: The Atheistic Communistic Scorcher, reaching audiences far beyond mainstream political writing. A pioneering advocate of birth control and free speech, Chatterton left a unique mark on radical history. Andrew Whitehead, associate editor of History Workshop Journal, explores Chatterton’s fiery legacy.
Thursday 3rd July at 6.30pm.
