The London Cycling Festival, organised by London Cycling Campaign and London boroughs, with support from Lime and Zero Emissions Network, brings together inclusive and family-friendly cycling events across London on 25th May.

London Cycling Festival is a brand-new event for London in 2025, with 14 boroughs participating with themed events, car-free spaces, entertainment, and LCC providing 30+ family-friendly cycle rides across London.

Events planned for the London Cycling Festival on 25 May include:

Guildhall, City of London, a fun day of cycling activities, information and more

Islington is hosting events at Highbury Fields, plus social and family cycle rides for all abilities.

As well as over 14 events and activities organised by local councils, trained LCC ride leaders and marshals will be running more than forty family-friendly and inclusive cycle rides in many London boroughs, with rides designed to be suitable for children and less confident cyclists to join. London Cycling Festival means wherever you are in London, even if you don’t normally cycle in your area, you and your family and friends will be able to get out on a cycle ride and enjoy the freedom cycling brings with other locals on 25 May…

Will Norman, London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner, said,

“The new London Cycling Festival is an exciting opportunity for even more Londoners to experience the freedom and joy of cycling, with more than 30 family-friendly rides and entertainment across 14 boroughs. These marshalled rides are a fun way for those new to cycling or less confident on a bike to give it a go alongside others in their community, breaking down the barriers to active travel.

The Mayor and TfL are committed to making cycling more accessible for all, and we are extremely proud of our work to expand the protected cycleway, which now spans over 400km in length.

I encourage everyone to get out in their area and enjoy the festival, which supports the Mayor’s aim for a greener, fairer London for all.”

Tom Fyans, Chief Executive, London Cycling Campaign, said,

“We’re so excited to be working with Lime and councils across London to put on this festival. May’s a perfect time to get out and cycle in your area, and LCC’s inclusive rides mean even if you and your family don’t get out and cycle together normally, you can on 25 May, with our marshalled family-friendly group rides in your borough. This is a perfect moment to celebrate London’s amazing cycling together.”

Hal Stevenson, Director of Policy UK and Ireland, Lime, said,

“We’re proud to be supporting the London Cycling Festival in partnership with the London Cycling Campaign and participating boroughs. Lime is committed to getting even more Londoners cycling and this event is a great way to do it. 20% of our users haven’t cycled before in London and 60% cycle much more often after trying us out. Whether you’re a regular cyclist or a first time user, come down to the festival and give it a go!”
