Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell has launched a new programme of cultural events that brings the neighbourhood’s rich history to life. The series brings together historians, writers, artists and thinkers for talks, discussions and book signings inspired by Clerkenwell’s creative, architectural and social heritage.
Launching in January, the programme is open to both hotel guests and the local community, positioning the hotel as a cultural hub in one of London’s most historic and creative neighbourhoods. Events will take place in Wilderness Kitchen, the hotel’s design-led dining room, as well as its restored Grade II-listed pub, Hat & Feathers.
At the centre of Wilderness Kitchen is Wilderness Talks, an intimate talk series exploring the people, movements and architecture that have shaped Clerkenwell and beyond. The programme includes:
· Monasteries, Martyrs, Meat and Medicine (Sunday 8 February), exploring the area’s religious foundations and long-standing associations with trade, healing and social change.
· Deeds Not Words – Suffragettes (Sunday 8 March), uncovering Clerkenwell’s role in the women’s suffrage movement and its radical political past.

Alongside Wilderness Talks, Wilderness Kitchen will host a series of author-led events, book signings and seasonal celebrations, expanding the programme to include contemporary art and cultural debate. These include a Burns Night celebration (Saturday 24 – Sunday 25 January), The Foreign Invention of British Art, a talk and book signing with artist and writer Leslie Primo (Sunday 15 February) and Great Art Explained, a talk and book signing with broadcaster and author James Payne (Sunday 22 February).
The hotel’s Grade II-listed pub, Hat & Feathers, will host a rolling programme of themed nights, live music, storytelling and community events designed to bring its historic spaces to life. The programme includes:
· Weekly Pub Quiz (Mondays), bringing neighbours together for informal competition and conversation.
· National Storytelling Week events (31 January–1 February), including Myth, Magic and Mischief and Dark Tales for Dark Nights, transforming the pub into a live storytelling space.
· Seasonal celebrations such as St David’s Day and St Patrick’s Day, each paired with themed food, drink and cultural programming.
Tickets for events start from £7.50, with concessions available for students, London Historians members and trainee Blue Badge Guides with valid ID.
Guests can also enjoy a £25 lunch or dinner before events at both Wilderness Kitchen and Hat & Feathers. Menus will be available on the day, showcasing locally sourced produce alongside guest favourites.

James Oliver, General Manager of Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell, comments: “Since opening last year, we’ve focused on creating a hotel that truly reflects the spirit of Clerkenwell and the people who shape it. Our new events programme is about opening the doors to conversation – bringing people together over food, ideas and shared curiosity, and creating space for the kinds of discussions that have defined this neighbourhood.”
Located moments from Farringdon, Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell continues to champion local culture through events that connect people with the stories, ideas and creativity of the neighbourhood. Full programme details and ticket information can be found here and here.
