Ofsted have recently published their results from this year’s review, and Hugh Myddleton school has once again been rated ‘outstanding’.

This follows on from the previous Ofsted report in 2017 which was also ‘outstanding’ after the appointment of headteacher Sarah Gill.

A proud parent commented “She has really turned the school around and it’s nice to see that the changes have had lasting impact.”

It is a marked change from Ofsted’s inspection in 2015 which rated the school as ‘requires improvement’.

Here are some of Ofsted’s positive comments:

‘Teachers are highly skilled at delivering activities that both inspire pupils to want to learn and support their understanding of curriculum content. This helps pupils to achieve consistently highly, and to develop a thirst for knowledge.’

On behaviour and personal development:

‘Pupils show consistently excellent behaviour. They support one another in their learning and following the school’s expectations and routines.’
