This year’s Finsbury Winter Warmers programme is drawing to an end, culminating in a celebration of International Women’s Day on the 8th of March. More on that next week!

In the meantime, here are some events not to be missed in the next few days:

This Thursday 27th Feb, join laughter therapist and clown, Mattie Faint, for a movement workshop that will make you smile. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. This takes place from 2-4pm, at Islington Museum.

Also, this Thursday 27th Feb, come along to our newest book club to read and discuss books set in Clerkenwell. This month’s book, The Nether World by George Gissing, is a vivid portrayal of life, poverty and ambition in Victorian Clerkenwell. Please ask at the Library Counter for Clerkenwell Book Club copies. Book club is at Finsbury Library from 6.20pm to 7.30pm.

On Saturday 1st March, there are two events on at Islington Museum. Firstly, from 11am to 12pm Seán McGovern of Islington’s Pride takes you on a fun and informative trip through Islington’s outsized impact on Britain’s path to greater equity. Expect pride, protest, and play!

Then, from 2-4pm, listen to Glasgow-born singer-songwriter Lucinda, who has appeared on Top of the Pops, perform catchy Latin Jazz Pop songs from her catalogue.

All the above events are drop in, so no need to book. Light refreshments will be provided.

Finsbury Library and Islington Museum (below-ground entrance) are both based at 245 St John Street, EC1V 4NB.
