Christmas cheer came to Clerkenwell Green yesterday morning when pupils from Hugh Myddleton primary school choir entertained an appreciative crowd with a repertoire of Christmas carols, and other songs.

Choir leader and music teacher at the school, Mr. Phillips led the children in a wonderfully festive performance.

In attendance were Emily Thornberry, Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury, and Clerkenwell councillor Ruth Hayes, plus members of the Central District Alliance, including Chief Executive Debbie Akehurst.

After posing for photos with the children, these three were then encouraged to join in with an encore of Jingle Bells!

It certainly brought a smile to the faces of several passers-by and local workers in Clerkenwell Green.

Merry Christmas everyone!

The Central District Alliance partners up with schools such as Hugh Middleton to show their appreciation to local businesses. They also want to make these businesses accessible to local children.
