Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea in the Great Chamber at the Charterhouse
This December, the historic Charterhouse is hosting three exclusive luxury afternoon teas inside London’s only surviving Tudor Great Chamber.
Your afternoon begins with a chilled glass of Valentin Leflaive Champagne and a curated walk through Tudor highlights of this historic house. You’ll then take your seat in the magnificent Great Chamber, where Queen Elizabeth I once held her first Privy Council and signed letters from the “Royal Palace in London”.
On the menu are savoury sandwiches (including honey-roasted ham with truffle mayonnaise) and exquisite patisserie, from gold-flecked chocolate praline bars to raspberry and pistachio choux. To complete the atmosphere, a classically trained pianist will be playing festive arrangements live on the room’s grand piano.
