London-based artist anaiis and filmmaker Tayo Rapoport will curate the final performance in the Barbican Conservatory before its three-year restoration begins in early 2027. Titled devotion, the one-day event on 22 November 2026 combines film, live music and movement in an immersive experience throughout the Conservatory.

devotion features a two-channel artist film by anaiis and Tayo Rapoport, a meditative work that expands the sonic and visual worlds of anaiis’ latest album Devotion & The Black Divine (2025). The film centers the voices and presence of Black women in the uncontained wilderness and sacred land of Jamaica, where reconnecting with the earth becomes a reclamation of our inherent divinity.

For this special Conservatory event, anaiis and Tayo curate a durational live score blossoming out of a night-time forest recording from Portland, JA, interwoven with sounds and musical elements from the album. Artists and performers stationed throughout the Conservatory, respond through sound and movement, transforming the space into a living, immersive art installation. Audiences are invited to rest, wander through the space and listen deeply, connecting with both nature and themselves.

Tickets for devotion are on sale now. For more information and tickets, visit the Barbican website here.

The capital’s iconic temperate greenhouse follows a rich history of pioneering installations and performances, from London’s first silent disco with Aphex Twin in 2001 to last year’s immersive sound exhibition by zoologist and music producer Louis VI. Marking the final public performance in the Barbican Conservatory ahead of its renewal, devotion offers a moment of reflection, connection and collective listening before the space enters its next chapter.

More details about devotion here. Full line up for the event will be announced via the Barbican’s website soon.
